Homeowner: Jeremy Smith

This two- bedroom loft overlooks the decaying Boiler House of The Stacks which once played a crucial role in the mill’s operation. The loft has minimal direct light due to the ruins looming just outside the window. The simple solution was to light the space with organic modular lamps made by Jeremy from recycled business cards. The lamps act as art as well as providing a warm glow on the brick and brightly painted walls.   Jeremy Smith, Architectural Technician at HOK, and his roommate Michael Cox, a Cost Accountant at Georgia Tech, share this loft whose unique location next to the elevator core provides a solid brick wall along the entire master suite. The second bedroom takes advantage of the vertical space with sleeping loft providing views to the outside.
